One day, our computer died, and we decided we needed a new one. Stupidly, my mother said she didn't want to spend more than $500 at Compumemories fixing the computer or she would get a new one. The 'fixing' (which was really just a 'new' computer) cost somewhere around $540, and of course we decided to buy it. (I should have listened to my brother). A few weeks later, after the computer was 'fixed', the computer started to act up. There were big problems with it, and at a one point, it wouldnt even turn on. Of course, we brought it in to Compumemories to have them take a look at it. They said the sale was final, and that they would fix it only for a usual fee. (About $99 minimum service charge + whatever outrageous hourly fee they wanted) After another few visits where they said 'Come back later, it's not fixed', we stopped in one day a few weeks later, and they said 'Computer has hundred viruses'. My mother wanted them to fix it for free because it was a reasonably new computer, but they insisted on charging for it, and she was ready to sue I think. They fixed the computer for another large fee, and it died a few months later. |
